  1. Make ready 7-8 boiled and mashed potatoes
  2. Make ready to taste Salt
  3. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  4. Get 1 teaspoon dhania jeera powder
  5. Get 3-4 teaspoons oil
  6. Get 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  7. Prepare 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  8. Prepare 5-6 Crushed green chillies
  9. Get 6-7 crushed garlic cloves
  10. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  11. Take 8-10 curry leaves
  12. Take 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  13. Make ready 2-3 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  14. Get for batter-
  15. Take 1 cup besan
  16. Get 1 tablespoon rice flour
  17. Get to taste Salt
  18. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  19. Take 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  20. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon ajwain
  21. Prepare 1/4 teaspoon sodabicarb

  24. Prepare as required Coriander mint chutney
  25. Get as required Red garlic coconut chutney
  26. Take as required Vada pav bun

The vada pav recipe is made of a spicy potato filling deep fried in a gram flour batter. Along with a hot and spicy garlic chutney, batata vada pav is served inside a small "Ladi Pav". Vada Pao, Wada Pav, or Wada Pao is a budget-friendly and gratifying Indian Style Burger which hails from the streets of Mumbai. The origin of this sandwich is the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Instructions to make Vada pav:
  1. In a pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds. When crackles add asafoetida. Add crushed green chillies, garlic and ginger. Add curry leaves. Saute for sometimes. Add salt, turmeric powder and dhania jeera powder. Mix well.
  2. Mix well. Add boiled and mashed potatoes. Combine well. Add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix well. Cool down completely. Prepare big size balls, flatten them slightly and make tikkis.
  3. In a mixing bowl take besan and rice flour. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and ajwain. Add water gradually and prepare thick lump free batter. Add sodabicarb and 1 teaspoon hot oil. Mix well.
  4. Deep each prepared tikki or vada in batter and deep fry in hot oil till golden.
  5. Take vada pav bun, cut into halves. Apply coriander mint chutney and red garlic coconut chutney. Put one vada and close it. Enjoy simple or you can roast on tawa with butter. Serve with tomato sauce and chutney.
