  1. Make ready 1 medium apple, peeled cored and cubed
  2. Get 2/3 cup Semolina/Sooji
  3. Make ready 2/3 cup sugar
  4. Take 8-10 saffron strands
  5. Prepare 7-8 cashews
  6. Get 4-5 tbsp ghee/Clarified butter
  7. Prepare 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  8. Make ready 21/4 cups water

Steps to make Apple Cinnamon Kesari/Sheera:
  1. Heat water in a vessel, add apples and cinnamon. Cook until Apple softens
  2. In separate pan, melt 2-3 tbsp ghee. Fry cashews until golden brown. Take it out and keep it aside
  3. In same pan, add semolina, roast until aromatic.
  4. Add boiling water containing apples and mix well. Cook until semolina cooks. You can lightly mash apples in case you don't want to bite on pieces
  5. Add crushed saffron and mix well. Alternatively saffron can be added to boiling water and then added to Semolina
  6. Add sugar and remaining ghee and mix well. You can also add 1/4 teaspoon Cardamom powder for additional taste. Cook until it reaches consistency of sheera.
  7. Add in nuts and mix well
  8. Serve warm or cold as desired. Best served warm

Kesari or halwa or sheera is one sweet which is quick as well as easy to prepare. It does not take much time too. Pineapple sheera is best served hot or warm. if you like a sweet breakfast, you can also make kesari for breakfast. You can also serve it as a dessert after your meal. The Halwa is also called sheera or kesari.
